I have an SE K610i payed for by my employer and on contract from Vodafone UK.

Here is the Sony Ericsson Help Page for the K610i on their web site.

I have been trying to get RSS Update to work using the feed reader. None of the provided feeds work. I have deleted them except for the BBC feed.  I get an "Update not available" message when I try and update the feed.

The BBC URL is

        http://wap.sonyericsson.com/download/download.do?cmd=bbcnews&appl=rss

I googled the error and discovered here and elsewhere that it is advised to set the internet connections to allow any network, and the RSS Reader settings to "Allow any Network". I have done the latter, but my service provider has locked down the settings for the internet connection which is Contract WAP. ( See also this article, but someone else here, states that these configurations are necessary.)

I have selected http://www.guardian.co.uk/rss as my test feed. I add the feed using the RSS Reader's New Feed dialog and get a "No valid feed entered at this address" message. I think I have tried the address both with and without the http:// string. It currently includes the protocol prefix.

It will work on the web browser and even offers an Add Feed button, which reports the feed as added to the RSS Reader, but isn't.

It isn't helped by the fact that my manual is published by Vodafone and fails to acknowledge the existence of the RSS Reader. So of to Sony Ericsson for the manual. The missing contents are very cryptic.

Any ideas? Looks like a call to vodafone is in order; it looks like they have disabled this feature. >>:(

This is a Vodafone issue. Their service does not support RSS. I am contracted with Vodafone UK. The people I spoke to do not know when and if they will deliver this service.
