For those who are eager to see a successor of k800, or are hoping to hear very interesting news, please be very dissapointed. SE has "nk-ed" again.

The post contains 3 spy-shots (taken with a k800) of the next cyber-shot phone, which has no code-name yet (at time of writing). The images were taken from SECentral.net, which was the first to receive the news.

Apparently, this is a lower-end version of the k800, and has a 2.0megapixel camera, and what appears to be a pair of LED Light (whatever happened to the cyber-shot xenon flash?).

Many, including myself, feels that this model is just a k750 in another casing.

No, SE! No! Stop doing stupid things like NK!

Spy photos of Sony Ericsson's second Cybershot phone

Several phtoos have been leaked in a now-locked Secentral.net forum thread of what seems to be a candybar mid-range (ok, downgraded) K800 with the same QVGA screen and Memory Stick Micro slot but with the 2.0 autofocus and two-led flashlight camera of the K750. Interesting where the FastPort connector appears to be located: at one of the sides. While the materials used seem to be on the cheaper side (it might be just the quality of the photos) and the back loses any resemblance to any Cybershot product, at least it looks like it's pretty slim, maybe thinner than the M600 (which is 15mm) [Via Engadget and Newmobile.nl]

It appears that several phones in the year 2007 will have fastports on the side. What are the phones that will have the fastport on the side?

I'm guessing the reason why they decided to move it to the side (from the end) is SE wants to re-launch an external Flash unit, like a Hotshoe flash for cameras. Placing the fastport at the lower end of the phone prevents such an attachment because, well, our hands will be covering the flash unit.

What do you think?

Here's an update to this phone.

According to SlashPhone.com, this phone is the Cybershot K770i, or also known as Li. This would be Sony Ericsson's 2nd Cyber-shot phone. It features a double-LED, 2MP Camera with auto-focus, M2 Slot and EDGE.

During the photos leak, it was to be the k770. Now it's annouced as the k550.
