Rebranded fake W810 with touchscreen

It caught us by surprise when we first saw these fake W800 and K700 some months ago, but they’ve now faked the W810 in Hong Kong and we’re getting used to cheap imitations of Sony Ericssons. It has a 1.3 megapixel, doesn’t support MP4, barely plays MP3’s, but it has a nice touchscreen and stylus, includes a 128mb MicroSD card and supports MP5 which apparently means Karaoke. The buyer in this story asked for a full refund when he found out it wasn’t a real Walkman. Obviously, he got slapped.

I am from Hong Kong and knowing such fraud happened to a tourist has make me feeling ashamed. Anyway, if you could get into contact with the guy who falls in this trap, tell him sending complaints to the Consumer Council is not enough, forward the complaints to adnews@appledaily.com or social@nextmedia.com
which they are popular magazine and newspaper in Hong Kong and they do have a column that follows frauds. I am not sure if it will work coz i never tried. Well, jus wana help and stop a small bunch of Hong Kong ppl turning The Heaven for Shopping to The Hell of frauds or traps.

Thx for the advice, I am the owner of the W810 which Engadget and you guys picked up on.



I will email the newspaper and magazine later, let you know if i get a response.  which to date i had no response from consumer council or sony hong kong.
