How long have we been dreaming about this? It doesn’t matter anymore. It’s for real, Sony Ericsson has finally made a Bluetooth Stereo Headset in the shape of a couple in-ear headphones and a main unit with a display and keys for volume, track skipping and call answering, all weighing just 27 grams. Yes, there’s still some wires involved, but the main unit hangs lightly around the neck and the phone is in the pocket with no strings atached. The sound quality promises to be as outstanding as the HPM-70, and the battery life is not awful bad at up to 6 hours talk time or playback time, and 300 hours standby. Now here’s something interesting, if you check the compatibility list in its Official Page, isn’t every single Bluetooth phone since the S700 listed? Half the phones there didn’t support the A2D profile for stereo Bluetooth music streaming, did they? The price is yet to be announced, but I really don’t care; when it comes out in Q2, I’m getting it no matter what. [Thanks Emil for the quick post]

oh? and is that a display I spy?

my, I've always wanted a screen that showed the current song playing with play controls, without having to look at my phones (w600i)

amazing, and i love the colors

Why, oh why wouldn't they make the actual headphones-mic removable so that I can use my favourite headset?

Do you think I could cut the wires and connect them to my headset's wires? Would that degrade the sound quality too much?

Thanks!

I'm not interested. I listened to an I-Tech BlueBAND bluetooth stereo headset the other day, paired with a Motorola V3x- it sounded GREAT. Excellent bass. I only get decent bass from my HPM-70 by wearing them upside down in my ear to get a seal! And they don't stay there- when they fall out a little the bass is gone. I'd imagine that these will have the same problems- they look identical apart from the colour. No such problem with proper headphones. It'll be interesting to see whether SE bring out something similar to the BlueBAND.

Close but no cigar!  I think there's a larger audience looking for earbud bluetooth receivers with no wires... it would end up looking like a hearing aid.

Someone email me when that's available.  =)

they're pretty nice but only 6 hours of music time??  that's kinda little i think. on my w800 i listen to music for longers than that...so i think they need to make one that can last longer.

No w600, w800, or w810? it's probably only a matter of firmware update, hopefully...

I asked them about a firmware upgrade to support A2DP on the Z800. Apparently, none is in plans :{ bumer
