P900 P810

Getting closer to perfection:
A step further in the perfect Phone++PDA++ fusion

Since its launch in January 2003, the P800 has been the king of mobile phones, smart(-)phones, all-in-one's or whatever you want to call them. It still was, but as competition rose Sony Ericsson decided to launch a better model enhancing the good software and hardware featuresof the P800

Key features:
All in one: PDA, Phone, MP3, Camera...
Large 65k color TFT touchscreen
Unlimited video recording with sound
Virtually unlimited memory (MSDUO cards)
153mhz processor + 48mb internal memory

To summarize, it's closer to a phone (electric keyboard with T9, covering less screen area and comfortable to use), closer to a PDA (flat, thinner design and proper pen), and closer to a multi-media device (proper MP3 player and Video recorder)

Photos of P900 vs. P800

The improvement in the screen is incredible

This photo has been captured from the VERY FIRST OFFICIAL images of the P900 from a video found in the Sony Ericsson site. This video doesn't exist anymore

Now there's no need to close the flip or the virtual flip in order to lock the keypad or the screen. In flip open mode tap on the battery indicator and then on "Lock screen"
The three photos below show how the flip CAN be removed. A little replacementent is placed instead as in the P800, and the pieces are fixed with a couple of screws (screwdriver included in the box)

The CommuniCam can now record videos. In fact, it's called "CommuniCorder" now. Video lenght depends on memory space, so you can record for several minutes. It also records sound

This is the much more complete Display Options menu. You can select one background for flip closed mode AND another one for flip open mode (this will be shown as the background of the applications list). You can also select a clock to be displayed when the screen is off (power save mode)

Since the keypad is shorter than the one of P800, the screen/background size in flip closed mode is larger. Actually it's square: 208x208 pixels

Flight mode/Phone on mode can be selected by tapping the network icon, as well as by pressing the power button

Look who's being browsed :)

The Virtual Flip

Here you can see the new application: "CommuniCorder"

It's just 3mm thinner than P800 with flips attached but more than 5mm with flips removed

This photos compare the P810/P900 with T610 and Z600

Let's hope the "browser button" can be customized someday

This drawings of mine show how i thought the P810 was going to be designed: in a stylish european way.
