Sony Ericsson News 16 Sep The black S700 is already in the products section of the U.S. sony ericsson site! Despite the fear that this color would only be available in the S710a for America (since the R2A Whitepaper version now only says "Artic Silver" instead of "TBD" [thanks Jesper]), the photograph of both the S700i and S710a in that site show a nice looking black housing. And this will also happen in Europe, won't it???16 Sep My friends at Engadget.com just defined the charm of one the latest Sony Ericssons: There seems to be a certain type of girl in every school on every movie about high school. She’s not the absolute hottest girl in class, but she’s hot enough that no dude would ever turn her down for a date. She’s not just good looking, but she’s smart too. Not like Angelina Jolie in Hackers smart, but still smart enough to be an honor student kicking most people’s ass GPA-wise. If you were a nerd, you wanted to hate this girl - she was too pretty to be that smart and too smart to be that pretty - but you couldn’t because she was nice too. She would talk to you like you weren’t a loser. She might have even done something really nice for you once or twice. She was hot and smart, and somehow it didn’t all go to her head - she was your dream date. The K700 is that girl. 2 Aug [thanks GoH] Again I'm late in publishing hot news due to the holidays, but just in case there's someone who hasn't heard about it, here's the picture of a black S700 that appeared in an official SE developers newsletter and in the SE developers website. The newsletter talks about the S710a (the S700 for america with EDGE support) but considering the success of the black T630, it's very possible that it also hits the european market. Exclusively by T-Mobile? Who knows. What matters is how cool it looks, doesn't it?
30 Jun A press representative of Sony Ericsson Spain has confirmed that a presentation of new models is being prepared for July. Some friends from Taiwan have been told by SE Taiwan that the exact date will be the 15th of July. It will be a similar event to the one of the 9th of March when they unveiled the S700 and the K700 and therefore will be held in many different cities worldwide. It looks very odd to me that they unveil any important new model in that month, when half the world is on holidays. However, the size of the event seems unproportionate for just presenting the K500, so it must be more models or at least one. more. For the moment we can just talk about weak rumours since this time Sony Ericsson has made a really good job to prevent the leak of information or photos. Maybe it's what-everyone-calls-F700 (a K700-sized stylish phone with all the features of S700, which by no way will be called F700; perhaps K900) and/or the Layla/P910 (a small upgrade of the P900 with qwerty keyboard) and/or a totally new smartphone (which, presented now or in the future, should use the UIQ 3 interface for touchscreens and non-touchscreens). Sure all this sounds amazing, so let's just hope it's not finally only about the K500 26 Jun Believe it or not, but it's for real. ThinkOutside (the makers of the first Bluetooth keyboard are going to release a tiny bluetooth mouse that will work with almost any device with a screen and Bluetooth: Pocket PCs, PCs, Macs, laptops, Tablet PCs... and Symbian smartphones. The combination of their keyboard and this mouse will change the way you work with the small devices making you feel you're using a laptop. It will be out in August at a price of 100€24 Jun Sony Ericsson has unveiled the result of a serious agreement with Vodafone, for which the new Sony Ericsson F500 will be sold exclusively by this operator until Sony Ericsson releases an unlocked K500 version. This will the first time SE uses a different name of the same phone for an operator and for the free market. Not all the specs have been announced but it's more or less a downgraded K700 without Bluetooth (Infrared YES), without Radio FM, with "only" 12mb of internal memory, without flash light, with the 176x220 pixel 65k color TFT screen of the K700 (yet to know is real size)... and odder design (we'll sure get used to it, we've done so before UPDATE: The K500 is also here! The first live photos show that the design of the keypad and the colors are slightly different (and far more attractive) than the F500: 22 Jun Apparently the version 1.5.9 of the Communications Suite which basically helps connecting and synchronizing the Sony Ericssons (except the Px00) with the computers gave serious problems to some people; problems that curiously dissapeared when using the old 1.5.7. Now Sony Ericsson has finished the 1.5.10 which should work fine for everybody. Well, for more people, let's not exaggerate 14 Jun Kinny Cheng, former editor of australian site iMobile.com.au, has just launched what looks to be the site with the longest and most complete mobile phone reviews in the net. You just have to look at the reviews of some Sony Ericsson phones to understand that you just have to add Mobique.com to your favorites without fail. Congratulations! 27 May It's ready and it's already available for preorder at ThinkOutside's website. The first portable Bluetooth keyboard for PDAs and mobile phones costs 150 dollars and promises to be compatible with most Bluetooth devices, including some USB BT adapters that will let you use it to write on your computer!26 May These phones are just about to hit the market but Sony Ericsson has already published the "Try the phones" for us, impatient SE freaks 20 May STILL no one knows how much the "phone after P900" (let's not call it successor yet) will improve the current smartphone, aside from the confirmed Qwerty keyboard. Mobile9.com publishes some screenshots of the "P910" or "P1000" new interface being tested on a P900. From this shots, we can only tell that the new additions are only the keyboard configuration menus and some redesigned icons, BUT there are rumours that this model will not only mean a new hardware piece but also more firmware improvements and additions. Yes, like the ones we saw from P800 to P900. There's even the rumour about WiFi floating around. In fact, in my humble opinion, Sony Ericsson could (hmm... should) have learned from the many P800 users who have complained and are complaining about the mere existance of the P900, and let current P900 users upgrade to the next one by buying the new flip and upgrading the firmware. But, again, making the Layla attractive enough to be worth the extra price (compared to the P900) for first time buyers. 3 May Sid from MobileBurn.com has gotten the scoop about a possible upgrade of the P900 to be launch in Q3 this year. A couple of computer-generated pictures tell that the most important upgrade is the addition of a full Qwerty keyboard in the back of the flip keypad. If it is comfortable to use, this "P910" or P900 upgrade (code-named Layla) will bring a fair competition with the other Qwerty smartphones (Treo 600, BenQ P50, Blackberry...). Other rumoured new features are Push-To-Talk and Wireless Village. This lack of new impressive features (still has VGA camera) and the fact that the design of the device could remain the same of P900 leads to THE question: Is it going to be a totally new model or an optional firmware/hardware upgrade for current P900 users?27 Apr Sony Ericsson announced today that Miles Flint will replace Katsumi Ihara as the company's president. Mr. Ihara has been the president of Sony Ericsson since the very beginning, and is now going back to Sony as executive deputy president, group chief strategy officer and chief financial officer (wow). Miles Flint himself comes from Sony, where he has worked for the last 10 years. His current position is President of European Marketing. We thank Mr. Ihara for driving SE to a happy success and we wish Mr. Flint the best of luck for the future! 20 Apr In a press release this morning Sony Ericsson published its numbers for the first quarter of 2004. 8.8 million units were sold, representing an increase of 63% compared to the same period of last year (a 66% increase as for sales) 9 Mar Along with the S700 page with photos, specs and links and the K700 page with photos, video, specs and links, I have just published the Report of the Sony Ericsson Worldwide Press Conference. Sony Ericsson CeBIT minisite updated 11 Mar 2 Mar This is known for some time now but I wanted to remind it so no one misses the meet on UPDATED: The presentation will also be held in Madrid (finally on Tuesday 9th) and Sony Ericsson has been so kind as to invite me! So there will I be to see the news live. Mike van der Wallen, Sony Ericsson's head of EMEA will be there too and hopefully I'll be able to talk to him. If you think you have some interesting question I could ask him, tell me in the forum. I just hope they allow taking photographs 3 Mar The Swiss site of Orange shows the Liquid Black T630. And it is already out in Hong Kong in a non-T-mobile carrier. This means this special version of the T630 is no longer an exclusive of T-Mobile. It looks like it's starting to be available in countries in which T-Mobile doesn't operate, which obviously means that sooner or later you will have it in your country no matter the operators. And in the end, available everywhere sim-free. Thanks to Maurus Coray 25 Feb Eldar Murtazin from Mobile-review.com is in Cannes visiting the 3GSM Congress, and in his Day 1 report he tells how he could catch a glimpse of Sony Ericsson's product launch strategy for this year. Since 2004 is the year of WiFi phones, the "P1000" could feature it, along with better screen, more memory and other predictable improvements. The "T650" would be the substitute of the T610/T630, being some sort of "super phone with memory cards, mp3 player, good camera, great screen, but without wearing any smartphone operative system" (like the Z1010). The other long time rumoured model "T330" would be a serious upgrade for the 3 series. Eldar even calls it a "simplified version of T610 with camera, but without Bluetooth". A new 1 series, subsitute of the T100, could sport a colour screen. Which of this models are true or false, which of them will be unveiled in CeBIT or later, or how many models will they present in that event, is something we just don't know, so don't take any commentaries too seriously until the official press releases. 23 Feb Almost one month before the CeBit 2004 (18-24 March in Hanover, and I'll be there), Sony Ericsson already has its dedicated page to the event. For the time being it only shows a couple of photos of the past year's crowded Sony Ericsson stand and an invitation to visit their two stands of this year. But we should keep an eye on that URL the next weeks. Just in case. 14 Feb It is well known that Siemens uses the Ericsson Mobile Platform in most of their phones, as other manufacturers do, but the new CF62 and CX65 share more than this with the Sony Ericssons. Quoting Mobile Gazette, "it would probably be fair to say the the T610 and T630 provided plenty of inspiration for Siemens", although they keep not supporting Bluetooth ![]() 9 Feb We hereby notify and inform you that the video as such and the information contained in the video do constitute business secrets of Sony Ericsson. Sony Ericsson. 6 Feb If popularity is the most reliable source of success, who can doubt a bright future for Sony Ericsson? According to Alexa.com the popularity of Sony Ericsson's website has been constantly growing since the beginning, while Nokia.com remains the same for years. Which isn't far from reality. Click the graph to enlarge it. 20 Jan While PocketOP sticks to its guns without supporting P800/P900 for their famous portable keyboard, the competition arises. Mobile Link has developed an infrared keyboard very similar to the PocketOP, but with a couple of advantages. Well, first of all I have to say that despite the photograph it can be used without the reflector, and with a diagonal infrared connection (like the PocketOP). They have confirmed this to me. While the PocketOP has the numbers in the upper "qwerty..." keys row, and you have to press "shift" to write them, the Mobile Link has a separate row of keys for numbers and special characters (like normal keyboards). It also has some additional shortcut keys. All these extra keys may make one think the device is bigger than the PocketOP, but comparing photos of both keyboards you can see they are almost identical in terms of external design, which makes me deduce the Mobile Link T806 (don't mistake with a S.E. model number, "T806" is the name of the keyboard") measure the same. We'll see by the time I lay my hand on one of these. But what stands outs in this keyboard (the first "official" one for P800/P900) is the drivers: a complete software with specific functions, customization options and even an additional on-screen keyboard with more special symbols.19 Jan A JAVA MIDP 2.0 application (which only P900 supports) that allowed using the phone's touchscreen to control the Bluetooth Car CAR-100 has become official, and also another application/driver (not JAVA) has been developed to make the remote controlled car work with the P800 too. I have added the links to both drivers to the CAR-100 page. By the way, happy birthday to me Bluetooth Keyboards this year! (?) 14 Jan In December, ThinkOutside, the creators of one of the most popular portable keyboards for PDAs, announced in a press release the awaited Software Standard and Driver to make smartphones and PDAs communicate with Keyboards through the Human Interface Device (HID) Bluetooth profile, and that they will make this available for FREE to any interested device manufacturer. If Sony Ericsson is interested as it should be, we could expect a firmware upgrade or at least a driver from ThinkOutside for P800 and P900 by the time ThinkOutside releases its first Bluetooth Keyboards. One of the dreams of Bluetooth users and especially Px00 users (the other dream still a dream is Bluetooth Stereo Headphones) may come true in 2004! Will the other most popular portable keyboard company react?
Peak season ready to go 8 Jan The first months of every year are supposed to be the hottest in the mobile communications world, and especially with the CeBIT almost round the corner rumours can't help starting to mess everything up. Appart from the typical attempts to guess new model names (T650, Z300, P980, P1000, P1010...) as if putting a Z, P, or T in front of a random number was a fiddly piece of work, the myth of the Z700 returns (again) thanks to Mobile-review.com publishing some low-quality photos of the prototype known since 2002. See all the pics and the whole post in Esato here but better be sceptic. More live pictures and specs of this relic in Threegmobile.net. Also it looks like the P200 project is somehow stopped or abandoned... at the same time that the Neonode N1 doesn't find its way to the market either. On the more realistic side of things, T-Mobile is going to sell an exclusive limited edition of black T630s in February. My best wishes to the industry and to Sony Ericsson for 2004! New site of the Unofficial SE Promo Team 4 Jan The initiative founded several months ago to promote our favourite brand all around the world only had a presence in forums, especially Phoneschat.com. But now Bart & Co. have developed an excellent website full of information, links, and a large and useful FAQ. 25 Nov Today I had the chance to perform a critical test to my HBH-65 while driving. During a 1600km-long trip in the crappiest noisiest car (Seat Arosa 1000cc, 50hp), I used it at speeds of 160km/h (that's 5600rpm; all the noise you can imagine) and with the music on. Incredibly, I had no problem in hearing the other people, nor had they in hearing me. I didn't even had to touch the volume+ button. Curiously I haven't achieved such experience outside the car. Being the phone laying on a table or in my pocket, there are problems quite often even if there isn't any noise around. How can this be? Impossible? Tricky. The answer is that apparently the place where I put my phone in the car causes the best Bluetooth connection between phone and headset. The headset is in my right ear, and the phone is between the parasols, hanging from the roof with a Sony Ericsson Car Holder, and the distance between them is less than 40cm. It is the cheap solution for a perfect sound quality Bluetooth Car Kit 19 Nov A great minisite/initiative to support office-free work, telework (especially with the help of the new GPRS+WiFi PCMCIA card Sony Ericsson GC79 you can see in the bottom left corner). Special attention to the "Take Action" page. WHO DARES? 19 Nov The guys have definitely good designers. Not only the new silver gray looks and swiss-style typographies match better the styles of both Sony and Ericsson sites but the navigation feels more sophisticated. Not to mention the cool photographs everywhere. Curiosly now it's clubsonyericsson.com that will remind us of the old site, with the Trebuchet MS typography, blue/green tones and the latest phones' thumnails in the homepage BY THE WAY: If the webmaster of sonyericsson.com reads this I would really love to chat with him or at least send him an email to congratulate him! Lgcc at clubsonyericsson dot com 18 Nov Without having put my hands on a P900 yet, I was 100% sure that the P900 was this "step further in the perfect PDA++Phone++ fusion" months ago. The reasons are various, but as I also stand the P900 page, it's "closer to a phone (narrow form, real keyboard which covers less screen area and is comfortable to use with just one hand), closer to a PDA (flat, thinner design, proper pen, large quality screen), and closer to a multi-media device (proper MP3 player and Video recorder)". Plus, it's one of the very very few devices offering up to four text input types (T9, multitap, QWERTY keyboard and handwritting recognition). Plus... many things P800 email problem, fixed in P900 11 Nov If you usually read email in a P800 you know the problem with the email application. You receive the headers of your new emails but only see the first one or two words of both the subject and sender lines. Thus, most of the times, you can't tell what are some emails about or where do they come from. You have to download the entire message to be able to read the header line completely. It was and is a frustrating bug but THIS HAS BEEN FIXED and now you have the option to make email headers show in two lines, one for the sender and one for the subject, as well as space for the hour/date. Actually you can see this option in SMS, MMS and other places too. As a sample: BRIEF: Huge review of the P900 in Mobileburn.com 26 Oct It happened! The new R3B for T310 will add Syncronization of contacts and of the new organizer: calendar and notes T68i new firmware R8A 12 Jun I don't want to sound like a creep but tell me which other phone manufacturer cares to continue releasing important firmware updates one year after the phone's release? Believe it: Sony Ericsson has released an incredible new firmware R8A featuring 12 GAMES!!! (4 added) and a new submenu for the Bluetooth car handsfree (with two new options: Advanced and Power save). The game list is now Arimona, Contrary, Erix, Four Piles, Naval fleet, Territorium, Q, Yukon Struggle and the new ones Ballpop, Path, Pulldown and Tennis. General menu speed and SMS typing speed seems to have improved too. Note: United States' R8A version doesn't activate the new games. T-Six-Ten.com ready! 3 Jun Appart from the main concept of this "online mobile imaging magazine" -a monthly mobile phototography contest-, the site has very interesting stuff about the T610: A cool promotional video, some new official photos, the original sketches of the design, an intervirew with the designer of the phone, some wallpapers for your computer, a quite good "review" that explains all the things the T610 can do, plus providing several external links of places with more information, ringtones, backgrounds; etc. Official survey for T68i users 19 May As they did with the P800 last week, Sony Ericsson has set another survey in order to know people's opinions about their products, this time about the T68i. They ask you not only about almost every aspect of the device but about the stuff you miss or you would change on the phone. It is quite long but very fast to complete (you only have to check/unckeck options), so it is highly recommended! FEATURED: Wanted the Neonode to be Sony Ericsson? Official survey for P800 users 19 May Sony Ericsson is making some interesting moves lately in order to know people's opinions about their products. The last one is a very complete survey on the P800 in which they ask you about almost every aspect of the device. It is quite long but very fast to complete (you only have to check/unckeck options), so it is highly recommended! Upgrade your P800 PC Suite to 1.4.2 Tuesday, April 22nd, 2003 UPDATE: Actually there's already a 1.5.1 version of this software available in Software section. It's well known how difficult it is to make a Synchronization software work well for everybody. Sony Ericsson P800's PC Suite is almost there, but if you still have little or big problems, try this new version. Actually I would recommend the upgrade to everybody. Ladies and gentlemen: the Sony Ericsson T610 Tuesday, March 4th, 2003 It is known that march is the best month for mobile communications and when more new products are unveiled. Sony Ericsson confirms this and presents the final T610, T310, T608 and T606 today. The first one, and most expected, will be T68i's substitute as the best Sony Ericsson available (appart from the P800), and its features live up to this: large 128x160 pixel 65000 color refined design display, aluminium body, integrated camera with flash accesory, triband, 2 mbyte internal memory, 32 tone polyphonic ringtones, Java, Mophun, Bluetooth, among others. It finally won't have Memory Stick DUO nor MP3 playing capabilities, so we might expect more surprises during the CeBit theese dayas. Otherwise we'll have to wait for Z1010 for that. The T310, as T300 substitute, doesn't offer more features but a new external design. To see T608 and T606 photos: More photos and other brand new products: Live photos of the press conference (strategy and product launch) today: First UMTS Sony Ericssson phone revealed: The Z1010 Tuesday, February 18th, 2003 Our beloved company surprised us with an impressive phone yesterday, during the 3GSM World Congress 2003 in Cannes. Being the first clamshell-type Sony Ericsson to be sold in Europe, this UMTS/GSM phone, called Z1010, fulfills all possible expectations: Two ultra-high resolution display, two cameras for photo and video recording and live conferencing, MemoryStick DUO, multimedia playing, integrated antenna, and a brand new "long range" Bluetooth technology that lets you keep your Bluetooth connections to up to 100 meters See this official site for photos and more information: Go here for a large amount of photos and some videos: Waiting for P800's R1F version Wednesday, January 4th, 2003 The few P800 which are currently being sold are in english and even though they have a utility for installing new language packs from the internet or from the hard drive and even some people already have many different language packs, they can only be installed in the forthcoming R1F firmware. It will be released and available in service centers as soon as the P800 is officialy released worldwide during february. Stay up to date on P800 apps and games Wednesday, January 4th, 2003 At Club Sony Ericsson we highly recommend My-Symbian.com to current and future P800 users for being *the* site that daily announces the new releases in applications and games for the Symbian 7.0 UIQ platform (P800's) and whose forum is probably the best and most reliable source for infromation and knowledge concerning this device. New firmware for T68i: R7A005 Saturday, January 4th, 2003 Rumours of this new firmware have been being spread for a while but it looks real more and more. We still don't know when will it be available in Europe nor the new improvements it will offer. Official background and ringtone P800 site Tuesday, December 17th, 2002 P800 section of Sony Ericsson Mobile Internet site has been opened today. You can download backgrounds, MMS templates and ringtones (monophonic and polyphonic MIDI). Remember that you can browse the page directly in the P800. They have also updated the main official P800 site. It doesn't offer much more information than the old one, but it's been reestructurated and there are more photos. ¡Official P800 FAQ! However this will be in small amounts, and the worldwide big release will be in january. Price of the sim-free phone would go from 800 to 1000 € depending on store and country. New Sony Ericsson T316 Tuesday, December 10th, 2002 Sony Ericsson again comes to an agreement with Orange (as they did with Sony J6) to produce a new exclusive phone based on an existing one. The T316 doesn't differ from the T300 in firmware and functions, but offers a new design, quite similar to T608 (northamerican and canadian exclusive phone) New Sony Ericsson T306 Monday, December 9th, 2002 It is a dual version of current T300 (which is triband 900/1800/1900) without any inner or outer changes, but using the 850 and 1900 bands, only used in United States and Canada. P800 ready for mass production Tuesday, December 3rd, 2002 The definitive firmware version has been sent to betatesters that until now have been dealing with pre commercial versions of the phone. This means that, finished the development, factories are ready for mass production. ¿Price? We know that the Code Warrior Kit (a special P800 packet for developers, with extra accesories and software) is already available for everybody for $1150, so it definitively won't cost more. |
Club Sony Ericsson News 28 Oct Here's the dedicated page for the J200, with all the official photos and some live pics from my friends at ThreeGMobile.net. It's now certain that the J200 is exactly a candybar version of the Z200, only with 400kb of less memory (possibly due to chineese writing embedded). I've also added the T290 to the T230 page. Did you know that the T2xx "clones" represents Sony Ericsson's broadest use of the same design for different GSM bands and markets?:T226: GSM Dualband 850/1900 for Americas T230: GSM Dualband 900/1800 for Europe/Middle East/Africa T237: GSM Dualband 850/1900 for Americas T238: GSM Dualband 900/1800 for China T290i: GSM Dualband 900/1800 for Europe/Middle East/Africa T290a: GSM Dualband 850/1900 for Americas T290c: GSM Dualband 900/1800 for China 16 Sep Some nice viruses have delayed the publication of the UCSE product page of the new temporal Vodafone exclusive V800, but here it is with a bunch of photos, specification table (with some unconfirmed facts) and a some links to the official pages:19 Sep I just finished upgrading the forum to the next generation forum software; Simple Machines 1.0, based on the traditional YabbSE technology (SMF can be considered a sort of YabbSE 2.0). It improves all the original features and adds dozens more, making your reading and posting experience more enjoyable and handy. At first sight it looks exactly the same as the old one. Well, it does look the same, but the new features are here and there, and you will be discovering them as you use the forum. My favourite new features are that it now distinguishes the topics by highlighting the icon of the ones YOU have posted in (i might revise that yellow highlight and make it more visible), and a handy QuickReply box at the bottom of each topic that lets you reply without having to load the Post Reply page, BUT the definitive killer feature is that you can already browse the forum from any WAP enabled phone!. Here's the page of the K500 with all the official photos, and some live photos and one video of mine; also with the specification table that's been hard to build... especially for one thing I've finally decided to mention in that page. 22 Jul After testing the P910 one week ago and finishing the product page here in Club Sony Ericsson I have come to one conclusion: The P900 was mainly a software upgrade from the P800 with different design to "disguise" the basically same hardware; now the P910 is mainly a hardware upgrade from the P900 with same design to "justify" the basically same software. The conclusion is that the P910 is a very solid and coherent result. POLL: To leak or not to leak, that is the question 8 Feb 31 Jan That section, especially the Windows Software part, was a total mess lately. Appart from fixing some broken links, some program versions are new: one download of the Sony Ericsson Communications Suite 1.5.9 replaces the four confusing packages; Sony Ericsson Image Editor and the brand new Sony Ericsson Themes Creator (v1.20) are now the best options for image personalization (and they allow sending files to the phone); Float's Mobile Agent is a truly PRO application now; and I've added a THEME CREATION SOFTWARE FOR P900 that went out yesterday. Also, since the server has about 900 Gb of monthly bandwidth left over, I've hosted all Christersson software (although I have to ask you to try the primary download sites first). Happy New Year twice over 8 Jan I forgot to mention that some time around november or december Clubsonyericsson.com turned one year old. I don't know which day should the birthday be because it all started slowly and progressively, from the first initial intentions of just hosting some ringtones and software to the creation of a forum... from the very first P800 review in Spain to the request of international fans to translate the site to English. Actually, the site has grown and grows slowly but neatly since the beginnings. More than 2.000.000 people have seen it. And now, after a disastrous end of 2003; a happy beginning of 2004 with a brand NEW SERVER (at last! thanks to JoseLuis from Todosymbian.com) and my precious P900 (arrived this morning; P800/P900 illustrated comparison table soon). MS DUO to CompactFlash adaptor and photos of the Flash module 28 Dec The first update after a long time. Still with server problems (still running on the slow server) I've found some time to add a useful gadget for all P800/P900 users: a Sony adaptor for use Memory Stick DUO cards in CompactFlash slots. Also, I've added more than 20 photos of the Flash module MPF-10 so you can better understand what's this cool accesory about. Temporary solution: slow and free server 18 Dec (read the news below to know when this one comes from) It's being harder than expected to find the money to contract the new server, so just in case, I've placed the site in the old free server, which is extremely slow and doesn't allow the installation of the forum. Less is nothing. The worse part is that with all this hassle I can't focus on updating or uploading contents, sorry. Bad Christmas start: Server change 15 Dec It looks like the current shared server can't support the site anymore. This time is no bandwidth or disk space problem, but "too many processes, server overload". I don't exactly know what's "processes" but the fact is that the host is no longer willing to host clubsonyericsson.com. No matter how much or how I complain, they're deleting the site some time today, and I'm not sure I will be able to set up the site in the new dedicated server before this happens. The forum is already closed so no posts are lost in the backup, but the site could also appear broken eventually. This is one of the reasons I haven't published many news or added more contents lately. When calmness comes back I'll start adding stuff again. Sorry for all the inconveniences, let's hope the new server can handle the high season of Q1 2004. Forums open and new site layout 28 Oct From around 1500 people, 75% voted YES to the creation of a forum in this site and after some days of installation and customization, it's ready and open for everyone! Also the site now features a new more personal design that differs from the official Sony Ericsson site at last. I hope you like it. FEATURED: A Great essay on Sony Ericsson by an Esato member BRIEF: Compilation of all official pictures of P900 and new P900/P800 comparison photos 28 Oct P800 vs. P900 table 23 Oct After reading many reviews I have built a comparison table between the P800 and the P900. If you read it carefully you will see that the P900 is a real improvement from the P800 and it is a worth buy for P800 users as well as for newbies Do you want a forum? 7 Oct Having seen the great success of forum of the spanish side of Clubsonyericsson.com we are thinking in building the same forum for the english version of the site. Classic Memory Sticks in P800 13 Sep New accesory in Unofficial Accesories gallery. The Memory Stick Jacket, courtesy of A.R.M. Station allows using classic Memory Sticks -"the big ones"- in the P800. And finally, ads 12 Sep It was just a matter of time. Sooner or later I had to put banner ads in order to keep the site alive. From now on, Google AdSense advertising will appear in the upper part of all pages. As you can see, they're not very annoying, without images or animations; and always with Club Sony Ericsson and its users' interests related content. Two new prototypes 10 Sep Along with the addition of all the new models and accesories, two new intriguing prototypes are available in the Products section. Thanks to Bart from the Unofficial Sony Ericsson Promo-team! No more large files 8 Sep You may have noticed that I am no longer hosting backgrounds, ringtones, themes and such stuff. I can't even host software (Christersson software for example). The problem is that any large file that gets popular causes such an increase in bandwith usage that any free or affordable server can deal with it. Some of you have already offered me good deals but I have decided to make the resources section a just-external-links section until I stop loosing money with the site. And I will apply the same philosophy to software and other large files such as whitepapers, manuals, etc. Please allow me some time to reorganize all this stuff. I really want to keep this site alive and improve it, but difficulties appear all the time. If you would like to support Club Sony Ericsson you can always make a donation. Running on the new server 25 Jun We've moved from a stingy free server to a decent "expensive" one.
