Sorry, third-parties, all JAVA-enabled Sony Ericssons now have official support from Microsoft to run their new Windows Live Messenger Mobile application. MSN/Windows Messenger site Mess.be found this goodie in a chineese MSN website. Well, actually, functionality may be a little below some other JAVA clients, but if you’re like me and only need your contact list and being able to chat with some few emoticons, you’ll take this Windows Live themed instant messenger over anything else. Apparently these download links (be careful to chose the version for your model) are completely legal and free to download, but after a couple of months they will stop working unless you pay a small unknown monthly fee. Hmm, let’s just enjoy it in the meantime and we’ll talk again in January. Check some screenshots of it running on K800 inside this entry. [Via Mess.be].
For Sony Ericsson J300, K300, K310, K500, K510, Z520 and Z530, Download Windows Live Messenger Mobile 380
For Sony Ericsson K610, K700, K750, W550, W600, W700, W710, W800, W810, W850, Z550 and Z710, Download Windows Live Messenger Mobile 382
For Sony Ericsson K790, K800, S700, W850 and W900 (it should also work for Symbian smartphones), Download Windows Live Messenger Mobile 384
If your exact model number isn’t listed here, make sure your phone supports JAVA and then download the version of models using the same screen pixel size.

As advertised in its official product page and this photo, the Z300 retail package will come with diamond-looking stickers for you your girlfriend to decorate the faceplate. This and the lack of the single-icon menu interface seen in the also just unveiled J220 and J230 altogether feels like not sleeping for 24 hours. But I won’t object. It doesn’t even have integrated handsfree speaker like the mentioned J phones, but keeps the rest of “standard” features at 85.5 x 45 x 23 mm and 91 grams: GSM Dual, GPRS 4+1, 128x128 pixel 65k color STN screen, 64x64 pixel monochrome external screen, 650kb internal memory (150kb more than the others), 32-tone polyphonics, theme support and exchangeable faceplates (Granite Grey and Amethyst Purple). Mobile-review already has a review of the Z300 and seem very angry about the lack of innovation and other details like the claimed 65k color screen looking as unimpressive and unusuable under sunlight as the J300’s 4k color. They complain about the use of the old connector instead of the Fast Port, about the volume buttons, and the existance of the phone itself coming to demolish the company’s image. But us, in SE we trust. This cute clamshell will be in stores before Christmas in Z300i, Z300c and Z300a versions for EMEA (Europe, Middle East, Asia Pacific and Africa), China mainland and America respectively.

Pictures have appeared of what is going to be unveiled on monday: lowest end models with the old interface (last used in the K300) that will hit the shelves after Christmas. The one with confirmed name (by photos of the box) is the 150€ Z300i: a Z200 successor with no major improvements other than slightly better (still 128x128 pixel STN) screen and integrated antenna, and the lack of Infrared, MP3 support, JAVA. What seems to be a T290 sucessor, called “J220″ (unconfirmed) by Mobile-review, will probably offer the same features as the J200/J210/J300 for less than 100€ unlocked, and default shortcut icons on the D-pad. With orange elements, but certainly not a Walkman branded phone, the “J230″ (unconfirmed name) offers an FM Radio on top of the mentioned standard features, and an interesting design at the back, at about 120€. These phones are not even using the new Fast Port connector so consider them an excuse to have something in operator’s low end clamshell portfolio, targeted to people who won’t even customize the default wallpaper. Thank you SE for making the effort of putting color screens in these ones, but tell us, will they have built-in calculator? Yes? Ohh that’s cool [Thanks bengan_fbk for posting it fast]
