Four new phones (first slider, W850!) and several accesories unveiledPosted by McCoy on May 18, 2006 in M600| Photos| Press releases| W710| W850| Z550| Z710
W850: Sony Ericsson doesn’t hesitate to say it in the press release: this is one cool phone. Could we expect less from SE’s first slider? A 3G/GSM triband phone, the W850 will sell with a bundled 1gb Memory Stick Duo Pro card (not Micro) and 64mb internal memory, has a 2 megapixel camera with regular LED flashlight and no autofocus, supports Stereo Bluetooth (A2DP), the Walkman application now shows Album Art and TrackID, and the controls light up at the rythm of the music. Not sure about that after watching the animation in the official page, which shows that only a (otherwise useless?) orange bar below the screen does light up. They keep mentioning the 4gb Memory Stick Pro Duo cards but where are they? Anyway, a really great little brother for the W950. W710: Aimed at the fit, sporty crowd out there, this Quadband/EDGE wearable clamshell may be â€â€correct me if I’m wrong the first mobile phone with an integrated motion sensor, for measuring your running speed, distance ran, or even the number of steps walked. The external screen is pretty big at 1.5″, and very useable with several buttons around while the phone is closed. It has a 2 megapixel camera with no autofocus or flash, 20mb internal memory, Bluetooth A2DP, and comes with a 512mb Memory Stick Micro card and the also new IAC-60 Stereo Headset with ear hooks to keep them in place while jumping about.
Z550: This is the SE123 spied a month ago, and as many of you sensed at the time, it is indeed an official tribute to the SE of SE’s, the T610. See it as an elegant clamshell version of the K510 with added Memory Stick Micro slot, or as a more stylish Z530 with upgraded 1.3 megapixel camera. Z710: Non-Wlakman version of the W710, with different external design and bundled with a Memory Stick Micro card of 64mb instead of half a gig. M608c: Non-3G version of the M600, for the Chineese market. HPM-65 Stereo Portable Handsfree, with ear hooks, perfect for an active lifestyle. They are actually detachable for a less active lifestyle which in any case wouldn’t involve buying these sort of headphones… HPM-82 Stereo Portable Handsfree: Like the popular HPM-70, with an added remote control unit HPM-85 Stereo Portable Handsfree: Ah, this is the one we would like to have with Bluetooth A2DP, but for time being, it’s wired and uses the same microphone with 3.5mm jack seen in the rest of SE’s stereo headsets. CMT-60 Micro Travel Charger: What a handy accesory. It’s not only a Fast Port version of the great CMT-10 small travel charger that connects to any plug in the wall: you can now use a couple of AA batteries to recharge the phone battery! The photo says it all. CST-75 Two Port Standard Charger: Running out of battery while listening to music? You won’t have to disconnect any accesory to plug the charger with this solution, which, in my opinion, should be included by default with any Sony Ericsson from now on One last photo of the W850. One post per phone with all the official photos will be published soon. For discussion please visit the forum |
